Following Argentina’s World Cup victory in Qatar, the country’s professional soccer league, the Argentine Football Association (AFA), has partnered with startup Metaverse Upland through an official licensing agreement that includes digital collectibles for AFA’s fan base.
AFA President Claudio Fabian Tapia stated, “The Argentine professional league has been waiting a long time for opportunities to take advantage of emerging technologies to improve the fan experience of our league. This agreement allows us to collaborate with the best creators of technology and new digital products, thus generating a new source of income for all participating clubs.”
